Evaluating the Job
Estimates are free from D.C. Carpet Care. Our technicians will come to your home and give you a price quote for the rug cleaning or restoration you need. Our price quotes are guaranteed. At this time we will arrange a time to pick up your area rug.
Picking Up Your Area Rugs
At the agreed-upon time, our technicians will come to your home and pick up your area rug. They will take care of moving furniture as well as rolling and packing your rug to ensure that it is protected while being transported to our cleaning room.
Our technicians will always arrive in a D.C Carpet Care vehicle for easy identification.
Area Rug Pre-Treatment
Area rugs are like any other flooring—vulnerable to stains. After we unpack your area or Oriental rug it will be thoroughly inspected, deep vacuumed, and any stains pre-treated in our state-of-the-art steam cleaning wash room.
Our trained technicians carefully consider every aspect of your rug before determining the proper pre-treatment for its fiber, color, and construction.
Color Stabilizing
You don’t need to worry about maintaining the color in your area rugs. At D.C. Carpet Care we pre-condition every rug with an appropriate, eco-friendly pre-spray and color stabilizer. These treatments reach deep into the fiber of the rugs, ensuring that color stability is maintained throughout the cleaning process.
Tassels and fringe are also pre-treated during this stage.
Cleaning Area Rugs and Oriental Rugs
We use a high-powered steam cleaning extractor to clean your area rugs and Oriental rugs. Cleaning removes sand, dirt, hair, and other soil from the rugs, leaving them looking and smelling like new.
Following the steam cleaning, we apply a Scotchguard Teflon spray to help your rug stay cleaner, longer.
Drying Oriental Rugs and Area Rugs
Your rug travels to a separate room for drying. We suspend rugs and use a combination of high powered fans and dehumidifiers to dry both area rugs and Oriental rugs safely and quickly so we can get them back into your home.
Delivery
Every area rug is raked after coming out of the drying room to make all of the fibers uniform. If you have a raking pattern you would prefer, just ask! We happily take requests.
Rugs are then shrink-wrapped and tightly rolled, ready to come back to you. Our technicians will put the area rug back in place, and replace the furniture.
